This Sunday’s passage in Luke 10:38–42 invites us to consider where we place our attention.
Martha welcomes Jesus into her home and busies herself with serving—an act of love—while Mary sits at His feet, absorbing His words. Jesus gently reminds Martha (and us) that while our service matters, nothing compares to the “better part”: drawing near to Him in stillness and listening to His voice. As our FUMC Quartet, accompanied by Sandy Erickson, sings “His Eye Is On The Sparrow,” may we be reminded that God cares for us in both our work and our rest. Join us as we learn from Martha and Mary how to balance action with presence, serving from a heart shaped by what Christ teaches.
Whether you’ve got questions, joys, or quiet hopes, there’s a place for you here—come as you are and join us in worship and reflection. We can’t wait to share this special morning with you!
