Welcome to the June edition of our First Lutheran Church newsletter! As summer gets underway, we are celebrating God’s Spirit at work in our church and community.

✝️ Pentecost Reflection

This month’s devotion focuses on the miracle of Pentecost and how God used language to unite people rather than divide them. We are reminded that Jesus brings all people together, no matter their background or language. We continue to pray that the Good News reaches every corner of the world.

🧒 Noah’s Ark Preschool Update

Noah’s Ark has successfully wrapped up a joyful spring program and graduation! Morning classes for this year are full, and registration for the 2025–2026 school year is already underway. Classes fill up quickly, so families with 3- or 4-year-olds are encouraged to email pontiacnoahsark@gmail.com soon.

🥩 Men in Mission Steak Fry

Mark your calendars! The annual Men in Mission Steak Fry will be held at Robinson’s Pond on Thursday, June 12 at 5:00 PM. All men are invited to attend and bring a guest. Cost is $20 per person.

🧺 Comforting Ladies (Quilters)

The quilting ministry is taking a short break during the first week of June due to Vacation Bible School and will resume on Tuesday, June 10.

🛒 Livingston County Food Pantry Donations

We are collecting essential pantry items this month including laundry detergent, toilet paper, canned meals, peanut butter, and kids’ cereals. Donations can be dropped off in the grocery carts at the church from 8 AM–1 PM, Monday through Friday.

🍼 Baby Bottle Fundraiser

Don’t forget to fill and return your baby bottles to support the Hope Center of Livingston County. The fundraiser runs through June 15 and supports women and families in our community.

🚌 Need a Ride to Church?

We now offer transportation assistance! If you or someone you know needs a ride, call the church office at 815-844-3695 or email office@pontiacfirstlutheran.org by Thursday each week.

♟️ Fellowship Events

Euchre Nights: Join us on the first and third Mondays of the month at 6:30 PM.
CEO Group: Our next Come Eat Out dinner is Tuesday, June 24 at 5:30 PM at Edinger’s Filling Station.

🙏 Prayer List and Pastoral Visits

Please notify the church office of updates to the prayer list or if you'd like someone to receive a “Thinking of You” card. HIPAA laws prevent hospitals from sharing your information, so please call the church directly if you or a loved one would like a visit.
