Rainforest Falls VBS Registration & Work Days!

School is almost out, and the best week of summer is just around the corner. Join us at First Lutheran Church for Vacation Bible School 2026, where kids will head into Rainforest Falls for a wild, creature-filled Amazon adventure. Throughout the week, they’ll discover that Jesus is Creator, All-knowing, our Refuge, Love, and Forever—all while building friendships and enjoying a fun, high-energy experience they won’t forget.

Vacation Bible School will take place June 1 through June 5 from 8:15 AM to 11:45 AM each day. The program is open to children ages 3 (must be potty trained) through those who have completed 6th grade in 2026.

Registration will be open from May 1 through May 31, or until classes reach capacity. Because spots tend to fill quickly, early registration is encouraged. Families can sign up online at https://www.myvbs.org/pontiacfirstlutheran.

VBS is made possible by volunteers, and we are always looking for more people to help. Whether you can serve the entire week or just a day or two, there is a place for you. Students in grades 7–12 are especially encouraged to get involved, as this is a great way to gain leadership experience and earn service hours. We are also collecting supplies to support crafts and activities. Needed items include shoebox-style boxes with lids, cardboard tubes (paper towel, foil, or wrapping paper size—no toilet paper tubes), empty 2-liter bottles with lids, milk/juice/water jug screw lids, and scrap yarn. Collection stations are available at the church entrances and in the Fellowship Hall.

Finally, VBS work days are scheduled to help prepare decorations and materials. These will take place on Sunday, April 19 during fellowship (cutting leaves—bring scissors if you can), Thursday, April 23 from 2:00–7:00 PM, Thursday, April 30 from 2:00–7:00 PM, and Monday, May 4 from 2:00–7:00 PM. The more people who can help, the easier and more enjoyable the process will be.
